Rosé Tell About Making of her Solo Debut and Support From BLACKPINK Members.

Rosé made a successful solo debut last March 12, 2021. In an online press-conference, Rosé revealed that when she was recording her solo, and think that the songs come like fate. Rosé can still remember the moment when she was recording "GONE" for the first time two years ago. She even told Teddy that it was a good song and listened to it a lot. After that, she wanted to share it quickly with everyone. Rosé also stated that she liked "On the Ground" as well, and the two songs chose naturally. Lastly, she said that two songs come to her like a fate without too much thought behind it.

The -R- album features two tracks "On the Ground" & "GONE" Rosé participated in writing the lyrics of both songs entirely in English. The K-POP Idol explains that there is a song that will fit in every language. She also looks thoughtfully a lot about which language would best fit the title track to maximize its quality and figure out that English was the most appropriate on both songs. Rosé was worried and contemplated a lot because she thought that fans might not be satisfied, but it was more important to refine it as much as possible and present to the public that she will be satisfied.

About her solo journey, Rosé commented, "Until now, four of us did what I am doing alone now, so I have that much more responsibility and things to do. In this aspect, I felt the members' absence a lot. While preparing for my solo promotions, I realized that I learned a lot while doing BLACKPINK activities. I thought again about how special it is to grow and learn together. I was able to feel the value of my members more."
The music video filmed in cold weather, Rosé said, “I’ve come to like winter while living in Korea. It was cold, but I made just as many memories. I think I was able to make something I’m satisfied with thanks to working with great people. I am happy.”
According to Rosé her bandmate BLACKPINK encourage her a lot, it made her believe that support is really important and she felt that. Jisoo said to her that she was so happy the song is so good as if it’s her own and the most memorable thing that Jisoo said to her was, ‘I wish you can do everything you want to do for these promotions.’ While Lisa went around telling staff members that the music video was ‘so cool’ after listening to the song and watching the video.” And lastly, Jennie gave her cute gifts and made a bracelet with her dog’s name.

Rosé finish the interview and hopes that the album could take as first step of introducing herself to everyone. While working on the album made a lot of realizations to her and received a lot of comforts. Rosé hoping that everyone who listens to her songs can relate to them and feel comfortable. She will be happy as well if BLINKs like it.

Right now Rosé’s ‘On The Ground’ and ‘Gone’ have both moved up 1 rank in the UK iTunes Songs Charts, making them No. 2 and No. 15 on the chart!
