MUSIC RANK EXTRA AWARDS 2021 | Criteria System and Selection of Nominees
The New Criteria System for choosing the winners for MUSIC RANK EXTRA AWARDS | #MREAwards2021 will no longer based on 100% fan-driven (fan votes) award. This change will determine the right winner for each category. For about 3 years of MUSIC RANK Team running this Online Music Award we learn that every winner each year became more predictable and biased to one or two Asian Artist, it is because of our one criteria system which is "fan-voting".

[ 90% Online Votes • 10% MUSIC RANK Jury ]
Male & Female Global Idol Of The Year
[ 90% Online votes • 10% MUSIC RANK Jury ]
Song of the Year (K-POP)
[ 70% Gaon Accumulated monthly points • MUSIC RANK Jury 20% • 10% Online Votes ]
Breakout Song of the Year

ASIAN CATEGORY
Asian Artist of the Year | Asian Performer of the Year | Asian Act
[ 40% MUSIC RANK Jury • 40% Online Votes • 20% MRAHot40Chart accumulated points]

[ 90% Online Votes • 10% MUSIC RANK Jury ]
Asia's Boy & Girl Group

Selection Process for K-POP CATEGORY:
1. The Group/Solo Artist have been active this year to be nominated, except "Global Idol of the Year Category"
2. MUSIC RANK Team recognize specific qualities to be an Official Nominees.
3. Popularity of the song/artist but an optional consideration.
*Song of the Year Nominees are based on Gaon Digital Song that place at #1 and #2 every month (Januray - September Chart)
Selection Process for ASIAN CATEGORY:
1. The Group/Solo Artist have been active this year to be nominated
2. The artist song has been part of MUSIC RANK ASIA'S HOT 40 CHART from March-October 2021 (except "Asia's Boy & Girl Group" Category)
3. Has good stats on #MRAHot40Chart but an optional consideration.
*Asian Song of the Year Nominees are based on #MRAHot40Chart TOP10 (Maximum of 3 songs per Country)
